About Us

Muth Electric was founded in 1970 by Dick and Darlene Muth, a young couple just beginning their lives together in Ethan, South Dakota. Since then, the company has grown into one of the largest electrical contractors in the region with over 500 employees. Still proud to be family owned, Muth Electric continues its positive growth into the future by following the mission established by Dick and Darlene.

Our goal is to provide “Professional Answers for All Your electrical Needs.” Thanks to our talented team, and decades of experience, we’re able to provide customers a wide variety of services from our licensed and highly skilled electrical contractors across the region.

Join the Muth Team

At Muth, we make sure everyone that shares our values has a chance to join our team. We like to give that back to our team in the form of good benefits, and investing in the faces of the future. Our tuition reimbursement program gives back up to $10,000 to students that graduated from Mitchell Technical Institute in Mitchell, South Dakota. This helps cover tuition costs under the agreement that they work for at least two years in our Huron or Aberdeen locations. We’re also proud partners with the Build Dakota Scholarship program, and invest in several students each year. This gives students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, debt-free, working in the electrical field and graduate with a job if they live in South Dakota for three years.
